Charlie Daniels & Friends celebrate Christmas For KidsCharlie Daniels along with friends Lonestar, Phil Vassar, Trace Adkins, Rodney Atkins, and Amber Digby will offer their time and talents to perform at the 9th Annual Christmas For Kids Benefit Concert Monday, November 21st at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN beginning at 7:00 PM. The charity event raises money for the Christmas For Kids organization. Golden circle tickets to the event are available now by visiting www.christmas4kids.org, and general admission tickets will be available at www.ticketmaster.com beginning Monday, October 31st. Ticket prices range from $25.50 for general admission to $50 for golden circle seating.
“We are thrilled to have Charlie Daniels headlining our concert again this year, and we feel blessed to have all the other amazing artists supporting the children and our organization,” says spokeswoman Debbie Lamberson. The Christmas For Kids Organization has been in existence for over twenty years providing special children the opportunity to celebrate the holiday season. Each year, the organization brings the spirit of Christmas to hundreds of children throughout Middle Tennessee allowing them to participate in festive activities organized specifically for them. Events such as the Tour Bus Tour raise money and allow folks to visit the home-away-from-homes of more than fifty stars and celebrities. The Tour Bus Tour will be held on Monday, December 12th at the Hendersonville Wal*Mart from 5:00 – 9:00PM.
The money raised at both events, the concert and Tour Bus Tour, is used to escort children from 30 different schools for a day-long excursion, and this year Christmas For Kids is proud to announce they will also assist Hurricane Katrina evacuees that have relocated to our schools. The day, set for Tuesday, December 13th, consists of a chauffeured trip from their school aboard a country music star’s luxury tour bus to a local Wal-Mart where they are accompanied by a volunteer to participate in their own Christmas shopping spree. On the return trip home, the children will participate in a Christmas carol sing-along. As an added bonus, Christmas For Kids has also purchased custom Titan starter jackets for each and every child.
All proceeds from the Tour Bus Show and the Charlie Daniels Band & Friends Benefit Concert (sponsored in part by 95.5 The Wolf, Sumner Regional Health Systems, Bob Parks Realty, and Wal*Mart)—November 21st--will be donated toward the children’s Christmas Shopping.

Daniels has sold over 18 million albums in his career, worked on albums with Bob Dylan, Ringo Starr, Marty Robbins, and The Youngbloods before forming the Charlie Daniels Band in 1970. Daniels' annual contribution to the Christmas For Kids Organization has served as a model for many of today's artists as an example of the importance of giving back to the community.
Lonestar has used soaring, passionate vocals to launch such huge hits as "Amazed," "My Front Porch Looking In" (the most-played country song of 2003) and "I'm Already There," a special favorite of the military and their families and BMI/ASCAP Song Of The Year for 2002. Their new album, COMING HOME, includes the hit “You’re Like Comin’ Home.”
Vassar, known to country music fans not only as a singer and pianist but as a storyteller, the Nashville artist has had success with hits such as "Just Another Day in Paradise," "Carlen,” "Six-Pack Summer,” and "That's When I Love You.” On SHAKEN NOT STIRRED each song tells a story -- about the joys of friendship present ("Good Old Days") and past ("Dancin' With Dreams"), the changing textures of life ("I Miss the Innocence"), and, on the album's first single, the transition from irresponsible youth to adulthood ("In a Real Love").
Adkins, a frequent guest on TV talkfests and shows including "King Of The Hill" and "Yes, Dear," also spends his time as a national spokesman for KFC. Both his COMIN’ ON STRONG CD and Trace Adkins Video Hits have recently been certified platinum, and his Greatest Hits Collection, Volume I, which entered the charts at #1, is on the verge. His CD CHROME has also gone gold.
Now, with the release of SONGS ABOUT ME, he is poised for yet another breakthrough, this time to country's elite territory.
Atkins burst onto the country music scene with his single “Honesty,” which earned Top 5 status, making it to #4 on Billboard from his debut album. Since the release, Atkins has toured nationwide playing for 500 to 50,000—depending on the night. He is now working on his sophomore project for Curb Records after taking time to write, tour, and see what the fans have to say.
Digby has been getting plenty of buzz in traditional country circles with her debut album, MUSIC FROM THE HONKY TONK. Amber's country roots run deep. Her father, Dennis Digby, spent 20 years as bass player for Loretta Lynn. Her mom, Dee, spent 7 years singing harmony on the Grand Ol' Opry for Connie Smith. Her stepfather is renowned steel player Dicky Overby and her uncle is legendary country singer, Darrell McCall.
