Todd Fritsch Brings “Small Town Radio” To Every Little Radio Station In Texas A Station (And The Majors Near You)Texas recording artist Todd Fritsch is trying something new: the Willow Springs native and his label, Diamond Music Group, have just shipped out his brand new single, “Small Town Radio,” not only to the “major” stations – but to every little radio station in Texas to boot! More than just a renegade marketing move, the shipment marks the first time a label has included ALL of the “small town” stations (including COLLEGE, AM/FM and MULTI-FORMAT, etc.) that play country music in Texas. This week, the single moves to the #7 spot on the International Country Hot Disc Chart. A mandolin and fiddle-laced, sing-along ode to the simple life, “Small Town Radio” is from Todd’s upcoming CD, TODD FRITSCH, due in stores October 18. The song was written while Todd and his producer, Doug Deforest, were traveling the back roads between Willow Springs and San Antonio, Texas. “We were listening to Carl Geisler's morning show on KULM – out of Columbus,” says Todd. "As the signal came and went, we listened to Carl talk about bake sales and enchilada dinners, and it reminded me of my hometown station. I went to school with the same 20 kids - from grade school through our senior year. Our local radio station was the lifeline to our town– and to the world beyond. That’s what this song is all about.”
Writing isn’t all that’s keeping Fritsch busy these days: he was recently invited to perform two songs on stage with Shenandoah in Arkansas. After signing autographs, he returned to Texas, where he performed on the same bill as Texas favorites Red Steagall, Gary P. Nunn, Gary Morris and Roger Creager.
